They should also show kindness and courteousness in words and deeds.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Students should co-operate with the school prefects, class monitors, and those who have been put in charge of maintaining good order at school. They should comply with their requests and orders willingly, and avoid hindering them in the performance of their duties.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Students should keep the school clean and tidy at all time. Chewing gum is prohibited on the campus.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Students should protect all the school facilities and use them with care. Should there be any damages caused by the students, they must report to the teachers at once and the repairs will be carried out at the expense of those responsible.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Students should not bring valuable objects or large amount of money to school. Any lost items found in the school must be consigned to the General Administration Office.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Students should only bring to school their textbooks, exercise books and other articles directly related to their school work. All unauthorized books, newspapers, magazines, mobile phones and other articles, especially if offensive to good taste or morality, are strictly forbidden.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Students who intend to publish any articles concerning our school must obtain\u00a0approval from the school authorities in advance.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Students should obtain the permission from the school authorities before organizing clubs, fund-raising or ticket-selling activities, parties, picnics, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 24pt;\"><strong>Appearance and Deportment <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"9\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Students should wear complete uniform when coming to school for lessons or meetings.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Students should wear P.E. uniform for P.E. lessons.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">To maintain a neat appearance, students are advised not to have their hair dyed or cut in unusual styles, and not to wear unnecessary accessories. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Students should avoid any rude, vulgar or violent behaviours both inside and outside the school which may spoil the reputation of individual and school.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 24pt;\"><strong>In the classroom <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"13\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Students are not allowed to change the assigned seat without permission from their teachers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Students should keep their discipline in the classrooms, corridors and on the staircases. They should raise their hands before asking a question during the lessons.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Students are allowed to have activities on the campus outside school times or during holidays only if they get the permission from the school authorities and are supervised by teachers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Students should hand in all the assignments on time. Copying the homework of their fellow students is prohibited.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Students should come to school with their own textbooks, exercise books and stationery, and should avoid borrowing them from others.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 24pt;\"><strong>* Under Tropical Cyclone and Rainstorm Warning Signal condition <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">A. Tropical Cyclone:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 -Classes are suspended all day when Tropical Cyclone Signal No.3 (or above) is issued.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">B. Rainstorm Warning Signals:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 -When the Red or Black Rainstorm Warning signal is issued, the Education and Youth Bureau (DSEDJ) will release the announcement of class suspension through\u00a0 \u00a0the local radio, television broadcasts and its official social networking platforms. Students are not required to go to school.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 &#8211; During the aforesaid class suspension period, the school will keep the premises open and arrange for \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0staff to look after the students who have arrived at school until they safely return home.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 &#8211; During class suspension period, all tests, examinations and extracurricular activities will be postponed \u00a0 \u00a0or cancelled.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">C. Exceptional weather condition:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 &#8211; When the temperature is 38\u00b0C or above and 3\u00b0C or below, classes are suspended all day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 24pt;\"><strong>Early-leaving and late-coming <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"18\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Students should be punctual. They are expected to arrive at the school at least ten minutes before lessons commence.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Students are not allowed to leave the school during school hours nor during recess time without permission.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">If students have to leave earlier, an \u201cEarly-leaving\u201d slip must be filled in and the approval from the teachers be obtained before leaving.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Late-comers should fill in a \u201cLate-admission\u201d slip at the reception office. When entering the classroom, they should present it to the teacher on duty. Tardiness in excess of 15 minutes will be considered as absence for one period.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Five late-comings in one semester will be resulted in one demerit. Students may receive 9 demerits for leaving the school without permission or for being absent without applying leave.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 24pt;\"><strong>Leave of absence and sick leave <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"23\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">If a student cannot attend lessons because of sickness or emergency, parents should inform School through our school-based e-Platform. A medical certificate can be uploaded or handed in to the class teacher when returning to school. If the student takes a sick leave for two days or more, a medical certificate must be presented.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">If necessary, apart from filling in the absent notice, students should also submit a letter signed by parents\/guardians, stating the reason for and length of the absence.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Any absence which is not dealt with the proper procedure will be counted as absence without leave.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">If a student has been absent for more than 15 days in one semester, the school authorities may debar him from taking the examinations.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 24pt;\"><strong>Tests and Examinations<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"27\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Students should avoid any dishonest attempt to gain marks. A student who is caught cheating during any test or examination will be given a zero mark for that paper and recorded 3 demerits and 9 demerits respectively. Additionally, conduct grade of the week will be deducted.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Students who are absent from a test or an exam without valid reasons will be given a zero mark for the paper.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Students who provide a validated excuse will be allowed to take the makeup exam, and the result of the makeup exam will be adjusted accordingly.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 24pt;\"><strong>Norms for promotion, Grade Retention and Expulsion<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"30\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">All concerns relating to promotion, detention or dismissal will be directed to Student Assessment<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Committee by the end of the school year. Final decisions about the concerns will be made by the<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 committee in consultation with the class teacher(s) in accordance with the students\u2019 academic and<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 behavioral performances.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"31\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Promotion and Graduation:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Students in Primary 5 and 6 who meet the school attendance requirements, obtain a passing grade in<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 every subject and conduct, or those who are given the opportunity to take the resit exams and obtain a<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 passing grade are allowed to promote to Primary 6 or to graduate respectively.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"32\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Grade Retention:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (1) According to<em> Student Assessment System for Formal Education of Local Education System<\/em>, school is<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 allowed to require Primary 5 and 6 students to repeat a grade. Grade retention is also applied for special<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 cases occur in the other grades.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(2) Primary 5 and 6 students who obtain a passing grade in all subjects and conduct but fail to fulfil any one<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0of the following are required to repeat a grade:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a01. Obtain a failing grade in the Year Total Average Mark;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 2. Fail in 5 weighting units or above;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 3. Among the failed subjects, obtain lower than 40 marks in any major subject.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(3) According to Student Assessment System for Formal Education of Local Education System, school may<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 get the approval from the Student Assessment Committee, and request from the DSEDJ the<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 administration of grade retention to students in the following cases:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 A. When both the parent and the school agree that grade retention will cater to the student\u2019s learning\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">development;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 B. When the student\u2019s attendance rate does not meet the requirements in the school-based students\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">assessment regulations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"33\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Dismissal:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Students in the following cases may be advised for dismissal after getting the approval from the Student\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Assessment Committee:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 A. Obtain Grade D in 3 criteria (or above) among all the criteria on the Student\u2019s Behavior Profile;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 B. Being evaluated for grade retention in the former school year, and yet no improvement is shown on academic and <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0behavioral performances;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 C. A repeater whose academic and behavioral performances yet do not meet the requirements in the school-based <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0students assessment regulations;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 D. Commit violent acts that harm the school\u2019s reputation;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 E. Obtain 27 demerits.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 24pt;\"><strong>Awards and Penalties<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"34\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Merits will be assigned to students with the following favourable behaviours:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (1) Excel in both academic and conduct performances;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (2) Show diligence and have excellent performance in academic achievements;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (3) Have outstanding service to the school;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (4) Actively participate in in-school and out-of-school activities;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (5) Perform praiseworthy deeds in favour of others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"35\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Following penalties are authorized to impose according to the students violated acts:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (1) Warning;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (2) Time-out \/after-school detention;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (3) Demerits;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (4) Suspension from school;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (5) Expulsion;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (6) Other appropriate penalties.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"36\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Students who commit any of the following acts will be given 9 demerits or requested for suspension or to expulse from the school:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (1) Serious behaviors which offend or insult teachers;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (2) Vandalizing school property, tampering with school notices or scribbles on the wall with<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0inappropriate wordings;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (3) Bullying or harassing others;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (4) Spreading of counterfeit orders; Forging documents or signatures;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (5) Stealing, gambling or smoking;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (6) Taking part in activities or organizations which are illegal, or harming the school reputation, or <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0commit a\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">moral or criminal offense;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(7) Habitually violating the school regulations though repeated warnings are given;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(8) Obtaining 27 demerits.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 24pt;\"><strong>Merits and Demerits<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">1. Merits:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a01.1\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Merits will be assigned to students who:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (1) Are outstanding in their service as a member of the service team throughout the school year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (2) Have punctual submission of all assignments and full compliance with textbooks and stationery, <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 and no tardiness or unexcused absence record.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (3) Have outstanding performance in representing the school in external competitions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a01.2 In order to commend students who excel in both academic achievement and conduct, the following <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0awards will be presented:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (1) Conduct Award<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (2) Outstanding Conduct Award<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (3) Conduct Progress Award<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (4) Outstanding Academic Performance Award<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (5) Diligent Student Award<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (6) Service Award<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2. Demerits:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 2.1 Demerits will be assigned to students who:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (1) Have 5 records of late-coming.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (2) Have 5 records of late submission of assignments.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (3) Have 5 records of not bringing necessary textbooks or stationery for assigned to students who:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(1) Gamble or smoke inside or outside the school.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(2) Falsify report cards or test papers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(3)
